AMEE Hacks is the world’s best medical education hackathon. Our goal is to become the catalyst that drives technology innovation within the medical education industry. Powered by AMEE, we're bringing together the best developers, designers and medical experts from around the world for the purpose of building new products for medical education.

Pitching Ideas & Team Formation

Enough talk, time to build the future!

Venue: Auditorium 1

Participants will have 60 seconds to pitch ideas to everyone. The top 15-20 ideas will then be selected to be carried forward for the weekend!

9:00pm - 11:30pm

Team Discussions

Venue: Auditorium 1

Participants will now have the chance to discuss and agree on what they will build during the weekend. Work spaces will be setup in preparation for the weekend.

We’ll be making our way to a nearby hostel where we will spend the night! Participants will be sleeping in rooms of 2, 4 and 6. Don’t forget your toothbrush! =]

Please note that all attendees, sponsors, partners, volunteers and staff at our hackathon are required to agree with our code of conduct and IP Agreement.

What is a hackathon?
A hackathon is a place where designers, developers, and professionals come together to take an idea and turn it into a working prototype in 48 hours.

Can I apply as a team?
Unfortunately not. We are only accepting individual applications for AMEE Hacks.

What about travel and accommodation?
Accommodation will be provided on the Friday and Saturday night. Travel costs may be reimbursed on an individual basis. Please contact us directly for more information:

Will there be free food & wifi?
Of course!

Will I receive any help during the hackathon?
Definitely. Thats what our mentors are for! During the hackathon, we will have design, development, and medical mentors floating inbetween teams.

Can I participate remotely?
Unfortunately not. We currently do not have the capacity to host remote teams, but we'll definitely look into this for AMEE Hacks 2016!

Who owns the IP?
The code and designs are owned by the individual team member who created them. The idea is not owned by anyone.

What do I need to bring?
Laptops, chargers, any gear that you might want to use during the hackathon, and sleeping bags!

How much does the event cost?
Application is free. If selected to participate, we will ask you to pay a £20 fee. This will go towards event costs and prizes.

Can you reimburse travel?
Selected participants can apply for reimbursement of up to £50 for UK residents, and £100 for EU/US residents.
